Go ahead, trade 'em while you can
NO ONE IS LEFT on the waiver wire.
So it's prime trading time.
True not only in fantasy but also in reality. WR Chris Chambers went from Miami to classy San Diego on Tuesday, and RB Michael Bennett went from Kansas City to Tampa Bay. Chambers can play, but enters a system where the tight end gets most of the love. Bennett can't really play much, but will get every chance to with the Bucs needing help in a big way.
An updated list of who you should go after and who should go.
Braylon Edwards, WR, Browns: Get him. Who knew? Thanks to Derek Anderson of all people, we have a every week starter on our hands.
Santonio Holmes, WR, Steelers: Get him. Nice schedule and Pittsburgh's balanced attack allows him a chance to score every week.
Shaun Alexander, RB, Seahawks: Get rid of him. I watched every down of the Seahawks game against the Saints. Looks like Seattle has never recovered from losing the offensive guard who is now paving the way for Adrian Peterson in Minnesota. When you can't take advantage of a bad defense, you are done.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, WR, Bengals:
Get him. So Cincy will have a losing record. Shouldn't stop the team from jacking it up in the air. He's on pace for 150 catches, 1,616 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Anquan Boldin, WR, Cardinals: Get him. Kurt Warner should be back soon and Boldin seems to be over his hip injury. The Cardinals have a nice easy schedule the rest of the year.
Ronnie Brown, RB, Dolphins: Get rid of him. I see five running backs I would rather have than him: Adrian Peterson, Joesph Addai, Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie Bush and Willie Parker. He's as hot as he will be this season.
Derek Anderson, QB, Browns: This is a tough one. First-round pick Brady Quinn is on the sideline, but Anderson is behind only Tom Brady and Tony Romo in total fantasy points for quarterbacks. The schedule is easy for the Browns, but will he keep his job the rest of the year? I say, right now, yes, so get him. But don't give him away.
Brett Favre, QB, Packers: Get rid of him. Just checked out his stats after the first six weeks, and for the past two years he's never thrown for more than two touchdowns a game and only had three 300-yard games. Yes, he has a new team this year and a killer defense, but sell him high. Tell everyone he has an easy schedule during the fantasy playoff portion of the season.
Marshawn Lynch, RB, Bills: Get him. He's getting plenty of touches, and his schedule might allow him to have some breakout games. I think the Bills will find their offense.
Laurence Maroney, RB, Patriots: Get him. The Patriots are near the top in rushing yards. You can't trust the Patriots to be honest about injuries (see Randy Moss), but he warmed up for the Dallas game and ran like he was fine. I bet Maroney will be back sooner rather than later.
Extra points
Priest Holmes might be back on the football field Sunday. The three-time fantasy superstar is now 34. He hasn't played since severe neck and spinal injuries during a game in 2005. Larry Johnson owners should make room on their roster for him. Everyone says he's done, but Holmes has made a career out of proving people wrong.
Chicago kick returner / wide receiver Devin Hester might be the last free-agent savior. After a long bomb last week, he's better than going with some other team's third wide out.
